Course Description

Accept the challenge! Take the average science fair into cyberspace! Join our team.  eCybermission is a web-based Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) competition for 6th through 9th grade teams. Sonoran Sky is looking for teams of three or four students to propose a solution to a real problem in our community. We will compete for State, Regional, and National awards. This course is limited to 12 sixth graders.

The eCybermission competition concludes in late February or early March. eCYBERMISSION is a 20-week course and will resume immediately after winter break. There will be 12 class sessions in the fall semester and 8 class sessions in the spring. Students may also meet outside of class and during office hours at times to be determined based on the students’ schedules. The results of the competition are posted in April 2017.

The Arizona State Winner for 2016 was The J.E.M.M. Squad, a Sonoran Sky team! Each member of the J.E.M.M. Squad received a $500 U.S. Savings Bond from the eCybermission competition.

Goals and Objectives: Upon completion of this competition, students will have a better understanding of the scientific inquiry process and the engineering design process. Students will practice working as a team developing their ability to corroborate and collaborate as a team working toward a common goal.

SSKY PTO Payments Policy

To ensure accurate bookkeeping, secure collections, provide tax receipts, expedite processing, and reduce waste, all PTO-facilitated payments must be made online via credit card, debit card, eCheck, or ACH automated bank draft.

For any instance where this is not possible, personal check payments (no cash, please) must be enclosed in a sealed and labeled envelope and placed in the PTO collections safe at the front office. The safe is checked periodically throughout the week. Online orders take priority, which may result in product or service unavailability. In that instance, your check will be returned to your student. We encourage you to place your orders online. The returned check fee is $35.00. Please contact spiritshop@sskypto.com for assistance.

Backordered products include waitlist registrations for enrichment courses. A refund will be issued if the order cannot be fulfilled. Send questions to store@sskypto.com  or enrichment@sskypto.com.
