12 weeks beginning  Feb 5th 2018 through May 7th 2018

Course Description

Each individual student will choose a topic that is of interest to them to complete their research project on. The topic will be of non-fiction nature. After they have narrowed down their topic of interest, we will begin to work on the research process. The students will find information and resources to support their topic of choice. Then they will work on their organization of the information found by using one or more of the eight thinking maps that are used throughout each grade level. Finally they will be ready to write their rough draft, and go through the revision process followed by their final draft. Our last class will be dedicated to presenting our projects to the whole class. The goals and objectives of the class are the following: To develop oral and written communication skills. To develop effective creative thinking and expression in both oral and written communication. To develop independence to seek advanced knowledge and explore ideas. To use technology skills. To develop inquiry skills to discover new areas of study through meaningful and properly constructed questions. To develop research skills to pursue expanded knowledge and explore ideas. To develop skills in understanding and showing respect for self and others.

This course is limited to 6 students.

SSKY PTO Payments Policy

To ensure accurate bookkeeping, secure collections, provide tax receipts, expedite processing, and reduce waste, all PTO-facilitated payments must be made online via credit card, debit card, eCheck, or ACH automated bank draft.

For any instance where this is not possible, personal check payments (no cash, please) must be enclosed in a sealed and labeled envelope and placed in the PTO collections safe at the front office. The safe is checked periodically throughout the week. Online orders take priority, which may result in product or service unavailability. In that instance, your check will be returned to your student. We encourage you to place your orders online. The returned check fee is $35.00. Please contact spiritshop@sskypto.com for assistance.

Backordered products include waitlist registrations for enrichment courses. A refund will be issued if the order cannot be fulfilled. Send questions to store@sskypto.com  or enrichment@sskypto.com.
