Fine arts is vital part of every student’s education. Kindergarten through 6th grade students take both art and music as part of their specials classes at Sonoran Sky. Additionally, band, strings and choir are optional classes for 4th through 6th grades.
Students work in a variety of mediums and explore multiple art processes each year. In the Spring, Sonoran Sky transforms its hallways into an interactive “Art Walk” showcasing works from each student. Student artwork is also prominently displayed at various district functions.

Music is one of Sonoran Sky’s specials classes offered to every student. Sonoran Sky also has a choir that 4th-6th grade students can choose to participate in.
Band 4th-6th Grade
4th grade band is an exploratory program where students will learn multiple instruments. This helps students figure out which instrument is best for them to play in 5th & 6th grade. Students will learn basic skills in how to play flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, & bells. While learning all of these instruments, students will also learn basic music reading skills. 5th and 6th grade band class is a full-year class and students will learn to play as part of a band and perform.
Strings 4th-6th Grade
Starting in 4th grade students may choose to participate in strings education. They receive musical instruction on violin, viola, or cello during strings class. Students will also learn to perform together.
