EXECUTIVE BOARD

• President Elect: In alternating years, the Executive Board shall include either a President Elect or Past-President. In a President’s first year in office, the Past-President shall sit on the Executive Board. In a President’s second year in office, the President-Elect shall be an Executive Board Officer.  (i) The President-elect shall serve as an apprentice to the President during the year with a full understanding that s/he will serve as President the following two school years.  (ii) The immediate Past-President shall serve as an advisor to the President. 
• VP of Fundraising: The VP of Fundraising works with school administration, parent volunteers, and community members to oversee all fundraising activities for the SSKY PTO. This includes but is not limited to voluntary donations through the Team Thunderbird campaign, Community Business Partnerships, external grants, passive fundraising, and other fundraising activities/events that may include: the annual Fall Fundraiser, Book Fairs, Parent’s Night Out, Dine Arounds, Used Book Sale, etc.  They will provide oversight and guidance to Fundraising sub-committee chairs, and will obtain status reports from those chairs in order to report to the Executive Board.  Overall, the VP of Fundraising must work to motivate others with a strong sense of the fundraising goals and timeline.

ELECTED BOARD MEMBERS

• Wonderland Chair (in training): Got a green thumb? Support our beautiful school garden through various work events, etc.  - will work closely with (and learn from!) Amber Behrens
• Parent Outreach Chair: Provide opportunities for parents to meet one another and form community (social events, Book Club, etc.)

COMMITTEE CHAIRS

• Kindergarten Door Opening Helper: Help unload our kindergarteners from their cars in the Kinder Parking lot and make sure they get to the playground safely
• Team Thunderbird Chair: Lead our Team Thunderbird fundraising campaign where parents are encouraged to donate directly to the PTO (100% proceeds go back to PTO) in exchange for some fun Sonoran Sky logoed swag and more!
• Co-Chair Step It Up! Fall Fundraiser: Solicited donations to friends and family culminating in fun event - will co-Chair with Peggy Oranski
• Parents’ Night Out Chair: Silent auction/social event for parents
• Dine Arounds: Help arrange monthly Dine Around givebacks with different local restaurants to encourage community; businesses give % of the sales back to school.
• Passive Fundraising: Help run the Passive Fundraising component of our Fundraising team -- where we earn money for the school from your day to day purchases we're making anyways; includes Fry's, BoxTops, etc.
• Polar Express Multicultural Night Chair:  (NEW EVENT for 2024-2025!) An opportunity for kids to share their cultural celebrations and traditions and learn about others in a Polar-Express-themed event held in  early December.
• Lost and Found Chair: Help organize student's lost sweatshirts, waterbottles, hats, lunchboxes, and more! so students and parents can more easily reunite with their lost items.

All elected positions are 2-year terms. Committee chairs are all minimum 1-year terms.
