Daily Schedule
A typical day at Sonoran Sky runs like clockwork, as long as you know where you’re supposed to be and when!
Before and After School Programs
You are welcome to walk your kids to the playground gate. If you do so, please do not park in the teacher parking lots. If you wish to walk your child to the gates, please park in the neighborhood and walk to the school. Make sure to use designated crosswalks and be safe!
It depends on what grade they are in.
Generally, 1st – 6th grade students are to be dropped off in the flow-zone (bus lane) along the large field on 75th Street, right before Corrine Road. The playground gate opens at 8:25am and closes promptly at 8:45am. Students begin lining up to enter the school building at 8:40am.
All Kindergarten students and their siblings are dropped off in the parking lot that you enter off of Sweetwater. Traffic flows counter-clockwise, pulling into the parking lot and continuing straight to the designated drop-off area. Students MUST exit their vehicle from the passenger side, the side closest to the sidewalk. After drop-off, students head directly through the gate to the Kindergarten playground, and older siblings walk along the front of the school to the big field. PTO volunteers help kindergarteners exit cars and walk to the playground every morning. If you would like to be a parking lot volunteer once (or twice!) a week, please contact volunteer@sskypto.com for more information.
Kindergarten students and their siblings are dismissed at 3:10pm, while grades 1st-6th are dismissed at 3:15pm.
Car-Riding Students
Please see the Arrival and Dismissal map and our complete arrival and dismissal procedures can be found here.
All students who are walking will exit the south end of the building and follow the sidewalk along the side of the building to the flagpole area. Students will not be allowed to exit through the front lobby.
If you are parking in the neighborhood and walking over to pick up your child, please wait to meet your student at the flagpole area in front of the school.
Students need to use sidewalks when walking home from school. Do not cross the parking lot areas. Students should only cross the street in designated crossing zones.
Bus transportation is provided to students within the Sonoran Sky attendance boundaries. Open enrolled students are not eligible for district transportation. Bus stops, locations, and times can be found here.
We ask that students are not picked up prior to 9:15AM or after 2:45PM for appointments. Should you need your student outside of these time frames, please plan accordingly.
If parents wish to pick up their students from school early, they must be signed out through the front office. Only people listed on the emergency card are allowed to check students out; identification will be required. Signing out a student early may affect attendance. Students will not be called out of class until the person picking them up is in the front office.
You'll need to set up your student's EZSchoolPay meal account so they can purchase breakfast and/or lunch - you can also monitor your child’s account for free. Note, your student will need to know their student ID number when paying for meals. You can find student ID numbers in Infinite Campus, on the Today tab, just select the desired student and it will show next to their photo.
Your child's teacher will be sending home a printout of each month's breakfast and lunch offerings home each month in their Friday folder that you can add to the refrigerator and refer to throughout the month.
For the latest information regarding school lunch costs and menus (or if you prefer an electronic version), you can always visit PVUSD's Nutrition and Wellness website for all information.
This year, they've launched a new interactive lunch menu (and interactive breakfast menu too!) that you can check out too.
Starting at 8:25am each morning, your child is welcome to walk into the cafeteria to order breakfast -- which means they'll enter the main gate for a normal day's drop-off, and just head inside to the cafeteria instead of playing on the field/playground that morning. They'll just have to make sure to finish up when the first bell rings so they still have enough time to make it to class on time by the second bell. They will check out using their same EZSchoolPay meal account that's used for lunch too.
For the 2024-25 school year, we are excited to allow parents back into the cafeteria to enjoy lunch with your child.
Parents/guardians are welcome to bring in outside food for lunch with their student(s), but cannot bring food for a group of students.
Sorry, no. We will not be accepting outside food deliveries for student lunches going forward. These deliveries pose a number of problems for us on campus and we are no longer able to accept them. Should a student forget their lunch parents/guardians may bring food for them to pick up in the office or they are welcome to a hot lunch.
Yes! We are lucky to have Nurse Teri Amenson on campus.
Her contact information is as follows:
phone: (602) 449-6503; email: teamenson@pvschools.net
If your child has allergies or medical needs that the school should be aware of, please contact Nurse Amenson. Each situation is slightly different and our school works with families to ensure students have the safest and best possible learning environment. Please notify the nurse of any chronic illnesses or special health needs as well.
We welcome visitors at Sonoran Sky, however, please check with your child’s teacher before visiting or volunteering. Also, make sure you have a PTO name badge! A badge is required for volunteering on campus. Order one here!
To volunteer on campus, if you are a parent, stepparent, legal guardian or grandparent of a Sonoran Sky student, you must submit a Site Volunteer Application and Agreement each year. The pink form is sent home with students at the start of every school year. Additional forms are available in the front office.

If you're interested in becoming a Chaperone (volunteering outside the classroom on fieldtrips, overnights, etc.), you MUST have your background check and fingerprints on file with the District office. Click here for more information!
Infinite Campus is where you can view your child's grades, review attendance records and where you will fill out your online emergency card for the school.
They even have an app that you can download and follow along from the convenience of your handheld device!
We host a Meet the Teacher event every August, during which students and families will have the opportunity to meet their teacher, explore their classroom, and introduce themselves to new friends! Stay tuned for additional details as we get closer to the event.
You’re already a member! How cool is that?!! There are no membership fees to join the SSKY PTO; therefore every parent and guardian of every student is automatically a member with an equal voice. Like all public schools in Arizona, we do rely heavily on the generous financial support of our community, and if you are in a position to give, it is greatly appreciated; but, never a condition of participation in your PTO.
Our school thrives on parent and community involvement. There are many ways to get involved. Pick what works best for you! You can…
A District calendar can be found here. You can always reference the PTO calendar as well, which includes these events and Sonoran Sky-specific events as well.
