Often our teacher's planned projects and activities require additional funding to make them possible. At the beginning of each school year, we kindly ask each family to help us cover the costs of these experiences with a one-time payment that we have named a “Classroom Support Fund” donation (find more details here)). These funds are very carefully calculated beforehand and will cover the costs of all classroom activities for the academic year, with the exception of field trips.

The Sonoran Sky PTO asks families to make a contribution to the Team Thunderbird capital campaign in support of school-wide programs ranging from our unique Wonderland Garden, Artist-In-Residence programs, to a variety of capital improvements, such as playground equipment and exterior shade structures. Team Thunderbird also provides the funds necessary for our signature events like Trunk or Treat, Science Fair, STEM Night, and Art Walk, to name just a few!

Let your kiddos see their name in LIGHTS! Order a birthday marquee message! Better yet, order a birthday marquee message AND a birthday book! Your child's book will have a label on the inside cover that reads "Happy Birthday (student's name)" and the date. It'll be kept in the library for all to see and enjoy...a real treat to find years later too! Order it at the Meet the Teacher event or online before August 12th to get 20% off.

If you ordered an EduKit prior to June 11, it will be delivered to your student's classroom for you. If you ordered after June 11, it will delivered to your home on or before July 26. Bring your supplies to the Meet-the-Teacher event on Wednesday, August 2nd!

Set up your student's EZSchoolPay meal account so they can purchase breakfast and/or lunch. Note, your student will need to know their student ID number when paying for meals. You can find student ID numbers in Infinite Campus, on the Today tab, just select the desired student and it will show next to their photo.

Passive fundraising is a unique opportunity to earn money for our school without much effort on your part -- for every dollar you spend, we get a percentage back. However, several of our passive fundraising opportunities require that you sign-up/renew your sign-up annually - so this would be a great time to do that!

The Ambassador Program helps new families get acquainted with Sonoran Sky by providing parent-to-parent networking and opportunities to meet other Sonoran Sky families. Current Sonoran Sky parents will welcome your family to our school, answer questions and help you discover the many events, programs and volunteer opportunities that we offer. The program also sponsors several school-wide “play days” throughout the year.

Welcome to Sonoran Sky Elementary School in Scottsdale, Arizona.
We’re so happy you’re joining our school community! Starting school or switching schools can be an overwhelming experience, even under the best of normal circumstances, but we're in this together and you've got a community to lean on. As families adapt to new schedules, procedures, people, and places, we also develop a robust and supportive community.
Get connected! Join Membership Toolkit and become part of our secure on-line community! Once you are signed up, you’ll also get our monthly newsletters, weekly reminders and volunteer requests!
Familiarize yourself with the basics: school hours, arrival and dismissal procedures, bus routes, lunch and recess schedules, student absences, classroom supply lists, EZSchoolPay student meal accounts, PVUSD district calendar, etc.
Join us at our monthly PTO meetings, the first Tuesday of every month. Most often, meetings will be held at school and may meet virtually based on need/scheduling conflicts. Check the PTO calendar for updates and Membership Toolkit for virtual meeting details and login information.
Join the Ambassador Program to meet current enrolled families who will help you learn the ropes. Email ambassasdors@sskypto.com to join the program.
Follow the PTO on social media to stay up-to-date on school and community happenings. Facebook is the fastest method for us to communicate, so we use it frequently. We have both a Sonoran Sky PTO public page, and a private group page where our PTO members can share photos and comments. We also have our Instagram page where we include fun posts and reels of school happenings and our gorgeous Wonderland Garden!
Make sure to update your emergency contact card and ensure that you receive District communications. Please go to Infinite Campus at portal.pvschools.net. Select More and then Annual Update.
